Starring: Sidney Poitier, Judy Geeson, Christian Roberts, Suzy Kendall & Lulu
Directed by: James Clavell
A sixties classic about an earnest teacher who takes up a position in a touch school in London’s East End.
Twilight Time’s release of ‘To Sir, With Love’ is a 1080p restoration on a dual layered disc with a high bitrate. The film is a bit grainy throughout the film but the exception to detail prevails with its sharpness in close-up shots of the actors. The visual context of the films colors are impressively bright and look great, but at times seem to dimmer. The colors are seemingly accurate, but in some areas scenes look slightly purple/blue that flush out tones in certain territories. Overall the stability of the film is on point and there aren’t any compression issues during playback. Twilight Time handled this title with great care.
‘To Sir, With Love’ is presented with a lossless DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track, which fit perfectly well with the dialogue in the film as well as the score. Twilight Time’s integrated Isolated Score Track puts the audio over the top and is very impressive. That is one thing about TT titles you don’t have to worry about, their audio track is always on point. Overall there are no issues of problematic, pops or dropouts in the track and can be heard with excellent range.

The treatment of this film was done real well and I am overly impressed by this Blu-ray release. I’ve been itching for more Sidney Poitier titles on Blu-ray and I was very satisfied with my viewing experience. Even though I am hesitant to pay the full MSRP price for any TT title, the viewing experience is always well worth it. One of my favorite film of Poitier’s and I highly recommend this title to anyone interested. Poitier at his finest and definitely a film to remember for the coming ages.
